Adopt a Dog
Adopt a Rescue Dog in Singapore
Give a pup a second chance at life and gain a loyal, loving companion through our adoption program. If you’re a dog lover, then choosing to adopt a rescue animal is one of the most rewarding pet-ownership experiences you will ever have. Despite (or perhaps because of) their histories of trauma, neglect and abuse, rescue dogs tend to flourish under the care of a loving, responsible owner and will repay your care with limitless love, affection and loyalty.
SOSD rescues stray and abandoned dogs off the streets of Singapore, bails out impounded dogs and works to find their forever homes through the dog adoption program. All our dogs are desexed, dewormed, vaccinated, vet checked and temperament tested, but they need your love and patience to help them become a well-adjusted household pet.
Think Carefully Before Adopting a Dog
Owning an animal is a significant responsibility and one which needs to be properly thought through. Being a responsible pet owner means taking care of all the animal’s day-to-day needs, giving them lots of love, affection, and attention and making sure they receive proper veterinary care when they fall ill. You need to consider whether you have the time, space, energy and passion it takes to provide a pup with a forever home where they will be happy and healthy.
If you are keen on our Singapore dog adoption program, you can start your search for your fur baby by reading the dog and puppy profiles we have listed below. Each individual profile lists the animal’s name, sex and estimated age as well as a little bit about their temperament and idiosyncrasies. If you are interested in a particular dog, simply click on their profile and register your details. Alternatively, pay a visit to our Singapore shelter during our twice-monthly shelter tours and meet all the gorgeous pups who are just waiting to go home with you.

Personality: ARCHIE is a smart and active cutie looking for his forever home 🏠❤️
I’ve been told that I’m a good boy as I am pee-pad trained and am also independent enough to sleep alone 👀 I look forward to learning new tricks and how to make more friends.
I am 6.5 months old, HDB-approved and I enjoy spending time with my doggy and human friends. I hope to find a loving family who will make time for me and love me for me 😊
Archie is the last in his litter to be adopted. He hasn’t been able to find a successful forever home coz he was thought to be too hyper and ‘mouthy’.
At his current foster’s place, he is able to settle and relax…he just needed ample mental stimulation, and some play time. Has a good temperament overall but growls when placed in uncomfortable situations. Not recommended for homes with young children.
Having said that, please remember that he is still a puppy. He will love you with all his heart, he just needs you to be patient with him.
P.S. He gives really good kisses!!!

Personality: Scruffy is a friendly boy who is good with all humans from the get go! He loves to go for walks and is generally really good with following his handlers. He might tug when he gets excited but can be managed with consistent handling. He can also be slightly barky so fosterers or adopters will have to give him lots of enrichment to manage it.

Personality: Meet Nellie, the sweet old girl who almost lost her home. She and her 5 friends were living in a commercial warehouse, which they called home for their entire lives. When the management requested all dogs be removed, we couldn't understand why. Upon investigation, we discovered that Nellie's regular feeder, the security guard uncle, had taken ill. Since then, more attention turned to the dogs, with most complaints about Nellie. But, she was suffering from urinary incontinence, hence the smell and the request to remove the dogs.
We had to step in and have her bid farewell to her caretakers who had looked after her for over a decade. Thankfully, we managed to save Nellie and bargain for the rest of the dogs to continue to remain at the site. She is now adjusting to shelter life, but we hope to find her a home where she can spend her sunset years. Nellie does have some health issues, such as arthritis and urinary incontinence that need to be managed carefully, but she is a resilient girl who deserves a chance at a better life. Please help us give her the love and care she deserves!
