Healing Paws: A Furry Love Event with Club Rainbow

Healing Paws with Club Rainbow2
It was a memorable Valentine’s Day for the doggies and volunteers of SOSD’s Healing Paws yesterday. On top of spending time with loved ones on Valentine’s Day, we were given the honour of spreading love and joy to the children and their families from Club Rainbow.

It was our first collaboration with Junior Chamber International (JCI): Former TOYP (Ten Outstanding Young Person) Award winners (Denise Keller, Dr Siew Tuck Wah, Nick Shen Weijun and Jason Chee) came together, organising a morning filled with activities!

Healing Paws is part of SOSD’s outreach arm. It was started in Jan 2014 aiming to provide comfort and warmth to persons in need via Animal-Assisted-Activities (AAA). Through the program, owners and their dogs volunteer their time in institutions such as children’s homes, elderly homes, and hospices, providing companionship, motivation, and recreation. Healing Paws strongly resonates with SOSD’s core values of love, compassion, and tolerance to all living beings, humans and animals alike. It is also a way for SOSD’s rescued dogs to say thank you, and give back, to the society which has given them a second chance in life.
